Welcome friends! My interior design work has always been about creating personalized spaces that look beautiful, functional, and are deeply intentional. But the underlying and guiding principle is that most importantly they need to feel good.  The feeling or experience you are left with should be memorable in a way that makes you want to come back.  Spaces are ultimately about the people and the memories you create in them.

When I envisioned The Dapper Fox, I wanted to create more than just a place to play games like mahjong or simply a space large enough to host an event . I wanted a space where thoughtful design meets meaningful connection; where locals could gather, learn, laugh, and feel genuinely welcomed.  Well-designed spaces allow for comfort and being focused on the people and the activity. As a designer it's our job to help facilitate positive experiences & to entrust your experience to us. To create a vibe that makes you want to come back.  Having the interior design studio and retail within the space allows for a seamless management to all our offerings; from game night to designing your dream space outside of our studio.

Mahjong is the focus of our day-to-day programming because it is truly a connection point for so many looking for authentic quality time and connection with friends and community.  Welcome in- your table is waiting.

Our concierge approach to hosting means everything is taken care of for you. Always something new to enjoy with a weekly rotating selection of catering, game table setups, and retail drops featuring one-of-a-kind items and artists you won't typically find — along with the consistency and enjoyment of a locally built community of friends to enjoy it all with.

This isn't a typical mahjong night. It's not a bar, and it's not a restaurant. It's a space designed for people who want to connect outside the usual spots — community-oriented neighbors looking for opportunities to spend time together in a stress-free, upscale, welcoming, and comfortable place that feels safe and easy.

The Space

Located at 2138 West Roscoe Street in the heart of Roscoe Village, The Dapper Fox is designed to feel warm, intentional, and effortlessly stylish. Every detail — from lighting to table styling to the layout — has been considered with care.  Amazing spaces are popping up weekly throughout the city.  The new coffee shop, the new hot restaurant, the hidden speak easy; this city is a Meca for incredible hospitality experiences.  We want to join that list as a not so hidden gem in the heart of Roscoe Village.  This vibrant, established and thriving Village is exactly where the Dapper Fox wanted to call home. It is also home for the Dapper Fox Founder and theworKshop Interior Designer,  Kaila Kirkpatrick as she has roots raising her family and experiencing all of the amazing local culture here in the Village for the last 25 years. Having established the worKshop design studio in 2009 with projects focused primarily in this area and throughout the North Shore, it was a natural fit and no brainer to want to set up The Dapper Fox as the next brand extension to the workshop Design Studio practice here. She has been a part of many overlapping communities in the neighborhood, from Hamlin Park baseball , AACA grade school to now, DePaul College Prep, where her son is graduating soon ( too soon ) .  Roscoe Village is home.

The Dapper Fox space is truly a reflection of what wants to be familiar in the best way yet an escape at the same time.  Taking influence from her favorite island getaway mixed with European quirk and ‘dapperness’, this space has been transformed into something somewhat unexpected and we like surprising.  Personality with Flexibility.  From being able to host daily mahjong gatherings, to an artist pop up, or a retail drop cocktail party; from to a speaking engagement with full AV tech needs provided to the 50th birthday celebration. We’ve got you covered.
